Mike is a former Army Officer and retired Assistant Head Teacher, who is continuing to revisit his roots by teaching part-time in a local school.
He is the former Chairman of the Buckinghamshire branch of the Association for Science Education and has been an A-level examiner for several years.
Mike has been Chair of a local Lodge for 3 of the last 4 years and has supported several local and overseas charities including Support Nepal and Sahara Academy.
Mike and his wife, Louise, have made several trips to Nepal and hope to visit the region again soon.
In addition to being a volunteer driver for the Stokenchurch Community bus, Mike is a Civilian Instructor with the ATC, an Assessor, and Leader for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, and is a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader.
Mike is a qualified microlight pilot but also enjoys sailing, making use of his RYA Day Skipper, Powerboat Level 2, and Safety Boat qualifications. He is a former karate instructor and his current hobbies include trail running, cycling, and riding his Harley Davidson.
